Remembering our Founder,
Doris Hollingsworth
1917 – 2008


Doris L. Hollingsworth, 91 died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at her home in the Lamington section of Bedminster Township, She was born in Baldwin, Wis., Nov. 17, 1917, a daughter of the late Louis and Helen Bakke Rudisell. She had resided in the Lamington section of Bedminster Township since 1957.
Mrs. Hollingsworth received her nursing degree from Mounds Hospital in St. Paul Minn. She was a registered nurse in private duty nursing for approximately 10 years.
Mrs. Hollingsworth was the founder of SWIM, Inc. (Specialized Water Interest Movement) in 1975 which originated out of her home swimming pool in Bedminster, and now is located at the People Care Center in Bridgewater with several other branches as well. She also served as a past president of the organization.
She was a longtime member of Lamington Presbyterian Church and an avid horsewoman, having raised and rode horses for most of her life.

She was predeceased by her husband, Russell W. Hollingsworth, who died June 16, 2002.
Mrs. Hollingsworth is survived by a son, John Edward Hollingsworth of Lamington; two grandchildren, Christi Ellen Thomas of Lamington and Brian E. Hollingsworth of St. Mary’s, Md.; five great grandchildren, Allison, John and William Hollingsworth and Samantha and Terence C. Jantelle Jr.; two brothers, Robert Rudisell of Sarasota, Fla., and Donald Rudisell of River Falls, Wis., and two sisters, Helen Hetch1er of Alma, Wis., and Lois Nerby of Rosholt, Wis.
Doris wished that holiday celebrations be upheld and that family and friends gather in good cheer in her memory.
